PSS Clinic Toolkit Update – July 2025
The PSS Clinic Toolkit has been updated to align with recent changes to Ontario’s cancer screening guidelines. This update includes revised EMR searches, updated custom forms, and refreshed help files. These enhancements support alignment with current clinical recommendations and assist clinicians in efficiently identifying and managing patients eligible for cervical, breast, and colorectal cancer screening. Optional forms for lab requisitions and preventive screening tracking are also included to further support documentation and ordering workflows.
The OntarioMD (OMD) Insights for Care (i4C) Dashboard was retired effective September 30, 2024. OMD has developed the PSS Clinic Toolkit for TELUS PSS EMR users that replicates some of the functionalities of the former i4C Dashboard.
Benefits
The toolkit provides immediate access to reports based on patient information and provides valuable insights that lead to improvement in guideline adherence and patient outcomes. Patient lists are easily and efficiently produced directly from reports. It was designed to make patient management easier and save you time:
- Follow-up tasks such as patient recalls are simplified.
- Quality improvement is easily tracked through data export and trend monitoring.
- Reports on patient populations provide a convenient high-level overview of activities to be done.
Clients using other OMD-certified EMRs who need support can contact the OMD Advisory Service at support@ontariomd.com for assistance with gaining practice insights tailored to their needs.
Accessing the OMD PSS Clinic Toolkit
The OMD PSS Clinic Toolkit provides general practice and clinical reports. The toolkit presents as a toolbar with clickable buttons, each representing distinct categories of indicators. OMD recommends that users create a fictitious patient chart and configure the toolbar to display in it only or the toolbar can be configured to display across all patient charts if preferred.
New to the toolkit?

First-Time Installation of PSS Clinic Toolkit
Steps to use the toolkit:
- Download and extract the full toolkit zipped file to a location accessible to your TELUS PSS instance.
- Import searches, custom forms, and handouts to appropriate locations in your TELUS PSS instance.
- Import and modify the reminder to meet your clinical needs. Creating a dedicated fictitious patient chart is recommended, which will allow access to the toolkit, and modify the reminder to link to that patient and any users to whom the toolkit should display.
- Define Provider - To run a search, the user is prompted to enter an MD/NP number to filter the results for the chosen provider. Familiarizing yourself with the MD/NP numbers required before launching the searches is recommended.
