OMD Preventive Cancer Care Toolbar Package – TELUS PSS

Last Updated: September 29, 2025

As of March 3, 2025, Ontario’s cervical screening guidelines have changed to recommend that individuals aged 25 and older undergo primary human papillomavirus (HPV) testing every five years, replacing the previous Pap test protocol. This shift aims to enhance early detection and prevention of cervical cancer by utilizing the increased sensitivity of HPV testing.

NOTES:

  • It is important to verify the accuracy of the patient list.
  • Toolbars & Reminders:
    • Do NOT flag high-risk patients.
    • Do NOT highlight abnormal or rejected results – providers must flag these and follow up separately.
    • Do NOT account for special considerations or exceptions – providers must flag these and follow up separately.
    • Tools and patient lists rely on the completeness, and quality of EMR data.
